Visionz Group, LLC is committed to empowering young people and adults with the skills, confidence, and support to achieve lasting success. Based in Detroit and led by Founder and CEO Christopher Rivers, the organization provides life skills, workforce readiness training, and personal development strategies that help participants overcome barriers and sustain long-term growth.
Through a culturally responsive curriculum, one-on-one and group mentoring, and outcome-driven workshops, Visionz meets people where they are, whether youth starting their first job, young adults seeking stability, or returning citizens rebuilding their lives after incarceration. Their approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, creating a nurturing climate that allows participants to thrive. Partnerships with a robust network of employers provide hiring pipelines that connect participants directly to jobs, backed by ongoing coaching and retention support. With hybrid training models and digital tools, Visionz ensures accessible, flexible pathways to opportunity.
The organization is steadily expanding its footprint across Detroit and Southeastern Michigan, with proven results in some of the nation’s most underserved communities—areas too often defined by high poverty and high crime, but equally rich in untapped talent and potential. Their transformative programming also reaches Dallas County Juvenile Detention in Texas, where justice-involved youth gain the skills and mindset needed for lasting change.
Visionz joined Midwest Urban Strategies to amplify its impact through collaboration, resources, and shared learning. Becoming an MUS affiliate has been one of the most important strategic decisions in the organization’s growth. The partnership has opened doors to industry leaders, timely information, funding opportunities, and a network of mission-aligned organizations. For a smaller organization, the ability to access tools and resources often reserved for much larger entities has been transformative. Beyond the tangible benefits, MUS has provided Visionz with meaningful connections that continue to strengthen their impact and extend their reach.
Through this collaboration, Visionz Group now plays a key role in the Pathway Home 6 Grant, where they have the opportunity to support currently incarcerated individuals with programming and career pathways that open doors to lasting change. For Rivers and his team, MUS has expanded their capacity, created new opportunities, and positioned them to serve communities more effectively.
