Invading Tusc: Empowering the Next Generation of Local Talent
In 2024, the Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board joined forces with the Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation and East Central Ohio Educational Service Center to launch Invading Tusc, a student-led video series that reimagined how young people explore local career opportunities.
Guided by student focus groups, the project embraced innovation by letting youth voices shape the message — ensuring the approach was authentic, engaging, and relevant to emerging talent. Hosted by local high school students, the series provided a “day-in-the-life” look at in-demand jobs across Tuscarawas County, reaching more than 1.9 million views on TikTok and sparking new connections between students and local employers.
Today, Invading Tusc continues to drive impact through the Tuscarawas Valley Industry Sector Partnership (TVISP), expanding from awareness to hands-on training and education opportunities. This collaboration demonstrates how Workforce Development Boards are leading with creativity, partnership, and responsiveness, showing once again that Workforce Works!! when we work together.
