This summer, Aspyr's Virtual Reality Career Exploration Tent invites fairgoers to step into high-demand careers through immersive VR simulations. Participants can experience what it's like to work as an electrical lineworker, healthcare professional, welder, advanced manufacturing technician, and other skilled trades professionals—all without leaving the fairgrounds.
Instead of simply reading about careers, visitors are placed inside realistic work environments where they can perform job-related tasks and see firsthand what a day on the job looks like. These interactive experiences help students, job seekers, and career changers connect their interests and abilities to real career opportunities while exploring pathways they may never have considered before.
The VR tent is paired with Aspyr's newly redesigned JoMo Career Exploration Experience, a mobile career center housed inside a 40-foot RV. Inside the JoMo, visitors can complete a quick career assessment, explore information on in-demand occupations, learn about training opportunities, and connect with workforce resources available through OhioMeansJobs and Aspyr.
Together, the JoMo and VR Tent provide a unique career discovery experience—helping visitors identify careers that match their interests and then virtually experience those careers for themselves. It's a fun, engaging way to move from curiosity to career exploration.
