Midwest Urban Strategies Proud to Partner with Council for Adult and Experiental Learning

As community’s work to differentiate themselves in a competitive economy, the need for alignment between economic and workforce development has never been more important. Workforce and Economic Development teams strive to equip and assist community leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to build skills and knowledge in subjects that matter, supporting the current economy while also building your community’s ability to attract and grow new firms and new industries.

The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) pursues work at all levels within the public and private sectors to enhance learning opportunities for adults around the world. CAEL advocates and innovates on behalf of all adult learners, regardless of their socio-economic circumstances, to enhance their economic and educational opportunities. They do this in partnership with postsecondary institutions, employers, government and communities. They conduct research and develop services and tools to expand opportunities for learning, employability and career success.

Midwest Urban Strategies is proud to be a strong partner of CAEL’s. The collaboration that exists within MUS is invaluable for CAEL to achieve its objective toward helping workforce boards develop asset mapping tools so that employers and employees can look across the region and see what opportunities exist as workers move across the spectrum of employment advancement. The regional relationships that are a backbone of Midwest Urban Strategies are an asset to CAEL.

Through intentional collaboration, leveraging stakeholders and efficient and creative use of resources, our objective at Midwest Urban Strategies is to retain and grow local talent and generate greater return on investment for our employer partners and the workforce system. MUS can reach that goal by working with forward-thinking organizations like CAEL.

As representatives from urban epicenters, the challenges and opportunities we experience by serving diverse populations – culturally, socially, and economically, require a unique set of strategies and tactics to connect people to the changing expectations and needs of employers.

For 44 years CAEL has been a national non-profit leader in the fields of adult learning and workforce development. Since its founding in 1974 CAEL has been an active partner with government, business, labor community-based organizations, and higher education, addressing skill development to promote individual growth and respond to emerging community workforce needs. With a membership of over 700 colleges, universities, corporations, labor unions, associations, and individuals. Headquartered in Chicago, CAEL also maintains offices in Denver and Philadelphia.
